Michael stared for a few minutes trying to think of what to say. Scott's tail moved faster and his ears fell back worriedly as he tried to figure out how they were going to react.

Melissa thought for a moment before she got an idea. Every cat in her family had the exact same marking on the tip of their tail. "Come sit with me," Melissa said, moving her legs so Scott could sit.
